MyHabitat: Login and Registration Help

When registering for MyHabitat, you may see one of the following errors displayed. Please use the additional guidance outlined below to resolve these errors.
  • This email address is already registered. Please use Forgot Password.

    This error displays when you attempt to register using an email address that has already been used. In this case, you can use the Forgot Password link to reset the password associated with that email address and use that information to login to the site versus attempting to register that email address again.

  • The name {EmailName} is not allowed in the email address. This is a generic or role-based email address. Instead, please use a name-based email address.

    This error displays when you attempt to register using an email address that is role-based for your organization. Examples of these types of email addresses are: restore@habitataffiliate.org, executivedirector@habitataffiliate.org, constructionmanager@habitataffiliate.org, etc. Instead, please use an individual name-based email address. Doing so helps us ensure that site access remains secure and that we have an accurate count of the number of users accessing the site.

When logging in to MyHabitat, you may encounter the following error. Please use the information below to resolve this error.
  • Authentication failed: Invalid email or password. Please use Forgot Password.

    This error displays when you have either entered an email address that is not yet registered with MyHabitat or an invalid password for the email address you entered. In either case, use the Forgot Password link to reset the password on your account if you encounter this error more than twice.
